Thermostat Services in Aurora, CO
No power to the R wire? Blank screen? System ignoring commands? Half of 'system problems' start at the wall. Diagnosis with upfront pricing.
Diagnostic visit · quoted up front · credited toward repair
It's the cheapest part of your system — and the most blamed.
What's included in thermostat service:
- Full low-voltage circuit test — R, C, W, Y, G wires checked with a meter, not guessed at
- "No power" diagnosis — float switch, blown fuse, transformer, or breaker: we find the actual break
- Thermostat replacement — standard programmable, installed and calibrated: TBD
- Nest / ecobee smart install — wiring verified before you buy, C-wire solutions, app setup: TBD
- System compatibility check — heat pump? Two-stage furnace? We confirm the stat can actually run your equipment
- Written quote before work — the written-quote guarantee applies to a thermostat swap like a full furnace replacement

"No power to the red wire"
We hear this one constantly. The R wire carries 24 volts from your furnace to the thermostat — when it goes dead, the thermostat goes dark and nothing responds.
The cause is usually not the thermostat: a tripped safety switch, a blown fuse on the control board, or a short in the wiring. We trace it to the source instead of selling you a new thermostat you didn't need.
And when you do want an upgrade — Nest, ecobee, or a simpler programmable — we install it, verify the wiring, and set it up with your Wi-Fi before we leave.
How our pricing works

From your call to fixed
Book
Call (303) 568-5036 or request online. Describe the symptom in your own words — "it won't turn on" is a complete work order.
Diagnose
A technician inspects the system, finds the actual failed part, and explains it in plain English. You see what we see.
Approve
Written price — part, labor, total — before any work begins. You approve, decline, or ask about options. No pressure either way.
Fixed
Most repairs finish the same visit. The system is test-run, safeties verified, and the work area left clean.
Guarantees, not slogans
No-pressure promise
If you decline a recommended repair, that's the end of it. You'll never get a follow-up sales call, a "limited-time" scare tactic, or a tech who won't leave without a signature.
Written prices first
Every price we quote is written down — part, labor, total — before we touch a wrench. If the number changes mid-job, the work stops until you re-approve.
We show our work
Failed parts go in your hand, not our truck. We'll photograph what we found and walk you through it, so you're buying a diagnosis — not a story.
Thermostat Services — straight answers
What does "no power to the red wire" mean?
The R (red) wire carries 24V power to your thermostat. "No power" almost always traces to a tripped float switch (clogged condensate drain), a blown low-voltage fuse on the control board, or a failed transformer — all quick, inexpensive fixes once properly diagnosed.
How much does thermostat replacement cost?
Quoted up front for a standard programmable installed; Quoted up front for Nest/ecobee smart installs with wiring verification and app setup.
Can you install a Nest or ecobee on my older furnace?
Usually yes — but older systems often lack a C-wire, which smart thermostats need. We'll verify your wiring before you buy anything and handle the C-wire properly.
My thermostat screen is blank. Is it dead?
Probably not — a blank screen usually means lost power, not a dead thermostat. Check the breaker and batteries first; if it's still dark, the float switch or fuse is the likely culprit. Call us and we'll trace it.
